As we all know, because of coronavirus, people are following social distancing , preferring home made food, online food deliveries are also in operation to some extent, dine -in culture has been eroded completely.
I have written in my previous blog about the hardships that restaurants are facing and will face in coming future. Financial burdens will led some restaurants to shut down completely.
Thus because of all these reasons the concept of "Cloud Kitchen" is coming to trend though this concept is not new.
In this blog we will talk about cloud kitchen concept and it's importance in future.
What Is Cloud Kitchen Concept ?
As the term says , cloud kitchen means a "Kitchen" as a "Cloud". To be very clear , in this type of food business model, there is only a kitchen in a required space and orders are taken through calls , or online delivery channels, there is no space for for the customers , sitting and eating . As soon as the order comes in , food is prepared in the kitchen and delivered to the address specified either through self delivery or through delivery partners.
In short , only a kitchen will be there, and no space for sitting and eating, only deliveries are done.
What is the future of this business model?
Due to current situations, people would not feel safe for coming to the restaurants , ordering there and eating in a crowded place . Social distancing is the need of the hour, thus this model has a bright future.
As the situation gets normal , customers would build trust though limited but yet people will start ordering from restaurants.
Low Cost , Cheaper Rates will give good margins.
As there is no requirement of interior decoration, designer structures , chairs , tables, parking slots, only what is needed is just a small place to install your kitchen and contacts with delivery channels. Overhead costs will be lower thus cheap prices will also give you good profit margins.
Thus , those people who are planning to open a restaurant after the current situation, they should look at the opportunity of cloud kitchen rather to go for a full fledge restaurant.
Happy Eating, Happy Living
